Pepper Spray/Mace FAQs
-
A gel Mace/Pepper Spray shoots out like a string instead of like a mist. This way, on rainy, windy, or stormy days, you won’t have to worry about the spray coming back and getting you in your own face.
-
Oleoresin capsicum (OC) is the oil taken from the placenta near the stem of a pepper. Although OC is the active ingredient used in most pepper sprays, the percentage of OC within the formulation does NOT indicate pepper spray strength. The OC percentage only measures the amount of red pepper contained in the pepper spray, not the pungency or effectiveness of the product.

All aerosol products will eventually lose pressure over time. Most pepper sprays last for only two years from their manufacture date. Because all SABRE products use only the best available components and formulation ingredients, all SABRE civilian products have a 4-year shelf life!

Depending upon the wind, most pepper sprays using a stream spray pattern fire 8 to 12 feet (3 to 4 meters). Pepper sprays using a cone/mist spray fire from 6 to 12 feet (2 to 4 meters). Cone delivery products deploy approximately 10 feet (3 meters) and gel sprays typically spray 20% further than stream.

Personal Alarm FAQs
-
To “activate” your personal alarm, pull the pin that is on the side of the alarm. This will make the alarm sound.
To “deactivate” your personal alarm, simply put the pin back in the side of the alarm.
To keep the personal alarm pin from being lost, we loop it around the silver chain hook the personal alarm hangs from.
-
While not age-restricted, Personal Alarms should only be purchased for kids and students at their guardian’s discretion.
-
Every single personal alarm has been independently tested by Safe Worthy, LLC, as of 4/07/2025. They ring at 130db, which is louder than a car alarm! (For reference: typical volume of vehicle alarms is only 97-112 decibels (dB)).
They can be heard from up to 550 feet away.
-
Battery working time: 90 minutes (continuously making alarm sound)
LED emergency light: 24-hour lighting
This Personal Alarm is equipped with three LR44 batteries for extended life! They'll last up to 365 days before you need to consider replacing them, but we do suggest testing them quarterly.
-
On the back of your personal alarm, you should see a small screw holding the back plate in place. Remove the screw and the back plate using a cross screwdriver, and replace the battery with a new one. Then screw the back plate back into place using the cross screwdriver.
Battery type: LR44 (3 pieces per alarm)
-
If you have replaced your Personal Alarm’s battery and attempted to test the Personal Alarm, but it does not sound, please attempt replacing the battery once more with a new, unused battery.
If it still doesn’t sound, contact us on our website with proof of purchase (a picture) of your item and/or your receipt. We will mail you a new alarm and a small gift for the inconvenience.
2-in-1 Window Breaker FAQs
-
As of 4/07/2025, Safe Worthy, LLC has begun testing each and every single 3-in-1 and 2-in-1 Window Breaker. If you bought yours before that date, they were part of a batch that was selectively tested, but not individually tested.
-
If you have tested your Window Breaker against a 3/16 thick tempered glass (the thickness of your car window) and it does not shatter, please attempt to test your Window Breaker against a new piece of tempered glass, 3/16 thick, pressing down hard enough until you hear your Window Breaker “click.”
If it clicks but the glass does not shatter, contact us on our website with proof of purchase (a picture) of your item and/or your receipt, along with a video of your test attempt. We will mail you a new, replacement 2-in-1 Window Breaker/Seatbelt Cutter (as of 4/07/2025, we individually test every single Window Breaker in our inventory) and a small gift for the inconvenience.
-
Our new 2-in-1 Window Breakers/Seatbelt Cutters have a heavy-duty textured aluminum casing. You can clearly see the beveled (sloped edge) striker when peering in the top. They are also easier to grip and strike glass with. The seatbelt cutters are slimmer and the blade is shorter, so there's less of a chance it'll catch during use. They are extremely lightweight, despite their looks, weighing only 2 oz. Our Full Sets with the new window breakers will be $41.95+.
Our old 3-in-1 Window Breakers/Seatbelt Cutters/Whistles were a lightweight plastic casing. The blade was quite a bit longer than our New Window Breaker, and had a greater chance of catching against the seatbelt. Because of these reasons, we no longer sell our old 3-in-1 Window Breakers.

-
As opposed to our old 3-in-1 Window Breakers, which had a plastic casing and were awkward to hold, our new 2-in-1 Window Breakers have an aluminum casing and are straight like a rod. They have a textured center, so they are easier to grip, and don’t require much finagling to actually shatter your glass window.
But guess what else? Our new 2-in-1 Window Breakers only weigh 2 oz, which is approximately the same as our old 3-in-1s!
